Gaston Gaubier Morvan Midcentury Oyster Plate

Vintage hand enameled french majolica oyster plate made by Gaston Gaubier in his studio named "les Gres du Morvan" in Tamnay-en-Bazois near Saint Amand en Puisay during the 1960's.

The richness of the pigments and colors is obtained thanks to a mixture of different oxides whose result is reminiscent of pointillism. Handcrafted and enameled painting. Glazed ceramic. 

Signed with the pseudonym Morvan at the bottom.
