Jean de Bretonne Midcentury Oyster Platter

A fabulous faience oyster platter made by  Jean de Bretagne, near Quimper, France – circa 1950s -1960s. Saint-Jean de Bretagne earthenware became a thriving industry after the Second World War. Each boldly coloured plate has twelve wells shaped as scallop shells. A central round well is for lemons or a dipping sauce.
